Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and
choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity
First thing you see.
A vast radiant beach
in a cool jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it's quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the woolly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.
Choose, they croon, the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon,
Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake
Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
Everything is broken up and dances.

About me: Basically I would describe myself as a free spirited, artistic, nature loving, opinionated, goofy, hippie at heart type of guy :D Definitely not perfect but not a dumb ass either... I've had a hard life but tried to make the best of it.
Been drawing toons since I was 5 years old, but like many forms of art & expression.
In college I met other cartoon freaks, enthusiasts, writers and teamed up with some... During college I did a lot of freelance stuff for local mags, shops, had comic strips, and had a strip in the college newspaper for a brief time... Right after college I did a 'Blues Brothers' comic strip with a partner. We worked hard on that strip and hoped to go syndicated, but due to a number of unfortunate incidents the whole thing fell apart and I became frustrated, disgusted, pissed off and gave up my dream of being a cartoonist... Gave up cartooning altogether :( which really broke my spirit and left me with a feeling of dread.
About two years ago I started drawing toons again after a 10 year hiatus... It felt really good to be tooning again and I was excited, but admit that I'm kinda rusty, sloppy and lost. I've been doodling like crazy and have tons of sketchbooks jammed with all kinds of doodles... I've gotten a lil' better and even did a few minor freelance projects.. I would REALLY like to find some type of job in cartooning and need all the help & advice I can get... Like meeting creative peeps... :D
I live in St. Louis, MO. Feel free to ask me anything.

It seems like you've had your fair share of ups and downs. The only advice I can give is whether you make any kind of success or not, keep drawing even for the fun of it. I've been drawing my strip for years with marginal success within a local newspaper for about a year till they were dropped and at first I got really down about it and wanted to give up, but I found I was happier drawing them than when I wasn't. My main outlet now is dA and I'm happy for the few comments and faves they get along the way. You're obviously really talented, maybe you can go along the lines of an original strip idea or comic book idea that you can work on...Maybe not, what do I know!

~Thanks for the advice friend :)  Yeah, I've had a lot more downs than ups  :(  I get really discouraged & depressed easily these days, but I'm gonna try and keep drawing even if no one likes my toons...  I always seem more positive, creative and motivated when I have a partner working along side me...

You have a really great style that I'm sure would be successful in the 'toon industry if you found the right door --  that part is the Hell of it --  finding where you fit in.  I haven't found where I belong, so I'm hardly one to give any advice that ought to be heeded, but that's pretty much what I've been doing --  just honing my skills and trying to find places to apply them.  Sometimes I wonder if that's all we ever CAN do...  just practice and wait and keep our eyes open for "that" opportunity.  I came close, I was interviewed to do the inking work for a local comic book type deal/story, but I fell short...  but the fact that there was someone willing to talk to me was refreshing.  Don't worry, even if you don't get this one, you made a connection.

No need to thank me for the unwarranted (and really pretty useless) advice.  :D  All joking aside, I wish you the best and I hope you find your place in the industry.  You have a style that lends itself to that line of work, I'm sure something will come along someday, most likely when you're least expecting it, 'cause that's how Life just seems to work.

Best wishes,
